Bible verses can be very tricky to tattoo - I have seen so much horrific lettering work - you need to go to someone who shows a lot of this in their portfolio without blown out lines or lines that are thicker in some areas than others, etc.

i wanted to buy a lot of time and tan until i can go to the beach, so i will have a lot of minutes left over. Will i be able to use them in the winter then ??? or do they expire???

Best way to even out tan?
Because I play tennis a lot (atleast 4:30 hours a week, and will be about 9 hours starting next week) and it%26#039;s the Summer, I have a really bad farmer%26#039;s tan. My face, arms, and legs are really tan, but my chest, back, and feet are totally pale. If I went out to tan, the pale skin would become tanner, but so would the rest of my body, and I would be tanner, but there would still be noticeable tan lines. What%26#039;s the best way to even it out, even if it%26#039;s not perfect?

Tongue piercing ripping?
HI, I got my toungue pierced a little over a week ago and the whole is getting bigger around the piercing, ripping I guess. My friend said its because i wiggle it around to much and when I eat I accidentally bite the ball sometimes so that could pull it also. Is it going to heal if I try to stop messing with it or is it going to be permanently torn? Is there anything I can do to make it better without taking it out?

You need to go see your piercer. You could be rejecting the piercing or getting an infection. If you did rip it, rinse with a solution of non-alcohol mouthwash and water (mix half and half) and be VERY careful about biting and playing with your piercing.
Also, did your tongue swell after the piercing? The hole could feel bigger because your swelling is going down.
Best advice: contact your piercer and tell him/her what%26#039;s going on.

my friend has normal eyes and she wants to get black circles under her eyes because she works real hard and stays up till three oclock in the morning to finish the projects we had to give in, but seems to never get black eyes. she is stupid and i told her, but seems as if wants them soo bad.

the best way is too not sleep now it may become hard not to sleep so try drinking caffine and staying awake coffee tea any drink might help or turn to make up and take shades of purple and little black nand smudge around eyes try not to blink often read in dim light

Get a blacky/bluish tinged eyeshadow and apply a small ammount under her eyelids in the creases she already has. If she doesnt want to use the eyeshadow, if you rub eyeliner and blend it in heaps (black) it will work. also put a bit of pink and purple in, if its just black it looks fake :)

i%26#039;m getting it done for the second time because my 1st time i used a titaium stud and my body only really works well with gold. that peircing ended up in a keliod scar that came and went until i didnt want to care for it anymore. once i got rid of the rign it went away,
but that was on my right side
i wanna try it again but do it on the left (the usual spot) and i%26#039;m gunna use gold (not gold plated)
and i%26#039;m gunna try to do this right.

oh yeah. 3 weeks into my healing process i will eb exposed to quite a bit of sun because i%26#039;m an outdoor swin instructor 5 days a week when the sun is at its peak.

You also do not want to be in a pool/lake/ocean whilst the piercing is going through major healing.
The water holds tons and tons of bacteria, no matter how much chlorine they put in it. the bacterium can get into the piercing and cause infection.

Reply:I would suggest speaking to a dermatologist just to be safe. I personally am concerned with you swimming so much with a fresh piercing that could cause an infection due to the moisture and chemicals which will not allow it to heal correctly.

Cartilage is simply a different kind of tissue, and you need more force to pierce it, which in turn causes more trauma to surrounding tissues. Additionally, cartilage doesn%26#039;t have as good a blood supply as regular skin does, so it doesn%26#039;t heal as quickly.
I do have my nose done, and I can tell you quite honestly that having your nose done by a professional piercer using a needle doesn%26#039;t hurt much at all. It hurt a lot less than having my ears done with a gun when I was young and foolish and didn%26#039;t know anything about getting pierced.
A good piercer will have you breathe deeply several times, and blow out really hard, and they will actually pierce on an exhale, which takes your mind away from the pain. I will say it%26#039;s the absolutely weirdest feeling in the world--I remember that very clearly. You feel pressure, and more pressure, and more pressure (but not pain), and then there%26#039;s this weird sensation as the skin breaks and the needle goes through. It doesn%26#039;t make a noise, but it feels like there should be a popping sound.
There is tenderness for a couple of days--I think mine lasted three or four, but it wasn%26#039;t pain by any means--it was just soreness. I did have the weepy crusties a bit during those first few days, but that%26#039;s easily taken care of. Since you are basically creating a flesh tunnel, and since that needs to heal all the way through, a nostril piercing takes a while to heal completely. Usually, they ask you not to change your jewelry for about six weeks, and you have better luck if you follow both the aftercare instructions and the injunction to not change jewelry too soon. Even after I was fairly fully healed, I did have some minimal discomfort when changing my jewelry for about the first year. That was, I found out, because the tissue in the very middle of the piercing, between both surfaces of the skin, was still not healed completely, and the jewelry irritated it as it went in. It also helped once I really learned how to insert the jewelry, so I didn%26#039;t take ten minutes trying to get the dang thing in there.
Just be sure to find a really good piercer (not some idiot with a piercing gun), and follow the directions to the letter, and you shouldn%26#039;t have any trouble.
Oh, I should add one thing--I strongly suggest you wear nostril screws or really tiny hoops that don%26#039;t hang over too much. In fact, I won%26#039;t wear a hoop because I know people who have caught theirs and torn their nostrils--not pretty at all. I also won%26#039;t wear a piece of jewelry that has a backing, or a bone, which is short but sticks out straight inside your nose. All of those hurt when they bump up against the inside of your nose, and they can cause bleeding and problems. A screw is just that--it has twists, and the inside lays flat against the inside of your nostril, so it doesn%26#039;t poke the inside of your nose a lot. They are extremely comfortable.
Reply:don%26#039;t do it until after youve finished the swimming thing...everytime i%26#039;ve had a piercing theyve said specificailly dont go swimming until its healed. if you could possibly teach swimming and keep your head overwater for most of it and clean it after each time i suppose it would be ok. and theres a waterproof bandage you can get but i guess youd look quite silly with a bandage on your nose :p
dont use gold tho. theres something about gold that irriates new piercings,i dont know whats best but there%26#039;s a type of metal most people work fine with. i was allergic to the stud they put in my nose originally and it wasnt healed after 6 months and then i changed it to something i wasnt allergic to and it healed in a month.

Just make sure the wipes you get are scent free! Babies tend to have sensitive skin..so..you can feel safe putting it on ur face!

I%26#039;m getting a tattoo while on holiday next month (in England) but I have no idea what I want. It will be my first one so I want something that I will be happy with and will want me to get more tattoos in the future.
I DON%26#039;T want a coloured tattoo... not just yet, anyway. I want something really small and just black and white.
But I don%26#039;t have any idea of what pattern/art I want. I just want a really small black and white tattoo.
I don%26#039;t know where I want it placed either! Originally I wanted one on my back/shoulder but I am quite thin and very bony, so I know it would hurt. I now want one on the side of my hip where I have a bit more fat!

MRI and Naval Belly Button Piercing?
I just found out that i need an MRI done in two weeks. I got my Naval pierced yesterday. What should i do? I%26#039;m so confused. Ive done research on it and aparently its not the magnets you have to worry about, it%26#039;s the heat generated and the metal picks it up and burns and stuff, but then i also read somewhere that as long as it%26#039;s not an MRI for the area (it%26#039;s on my knee) than it%26#039;s fine.

In the mean time, if I am doing a knee MRI, as long as there is no metal in the immediate area of the knee, I allow the patient to leave it in. For example, with a brain MRI, all jewelry neck above should be removed (facial piercings, tongue, ear etc). The metal in the area of interest can cause an artifact and distort your images. But, you need a knee MRI and you have a naval ring. I would not ask you to remove this piercing for this exam. A watch is removed for any MRI scan, since the magnet can break the moving parts of the watch.
Body jewelry is not effected by a magnet. You can hold a refridgerator magnet to your jewelry and see this yourself. On a daily basis, I am in direct proximity to a MRI scanner, and none of my piercings have ever been pulled and none of my body jewelry has heated up.

I had a 1st Tattoo done 3 days ago and color is coming off onto clothing & sheets. Is this normal???
This is normal, don%26#039;t worry. Just try not to rest your tattoo against too many sheets and possibly wear baggy clothes for a few days, or loose clothing around the tattoo area. It%26#039;ll help keep the colour in your tattoo, and keep your materials clean :P

There%26#039;s a new product available to priceline. The range is called Joey%26#039;s. There are a couple of products that are supposedly meant to clear up your skin. One is almost pure Salicylic Acid that ur meant to dab onto spots. Try it out if you can get it. Ive been using it and its going good. Just remember to use a facial scrub in the shower once every 3-4 days, a facial soap and i always use a shower cleanser. And if your face dries out then a facial moisturiser (i recomend the Loreal ones). One more thing. As well as a healthy diet, Zinc tablets are supposedly very good for your skin. My boss recommended them to me :)

Just splash cold water on your face every morning, and use a good-quality facial soap. Rinse off with cold water and pat dry.

next year when i go to france im getting a tattoo. Its going to be of a koi fish my friend drew next to a cherry blossom. im getting it in the area under your belly button thats near the hip bone. I was wonder, i have a high tolerence for pain but on a scale of 1 to 10 how bad did it hurt for you or do you think it hurts.

Reply:I got my first tattoo last year, a big piece on my rib cage (supposedly a harsh spot). Getting it done wasn%26#039;t bad at all. There were like 3 times he got near a bone and it hurt a bit more, but it was completely bearable. It was sore for about a week afterwards.
It has to do with your pain tolerance. I%26#039;d say getting it done was a 4. The soreness afterwards maybe a 6.

But, it%26#039;s not really that bad - when I got mine it hurt more for the first 10 mins and then it was just more of a numb, buzzing feeling (still hurting though, but it was durable enough for me to be having multiple conversations with the people around me :P).
However, I had my tattoo done on the back of the hip, where there is more fat. The closer it is done to the bone, the more it will hurt, also the closer to the spine/nervous system, the more it will hurt.
For me, on a scale of 1-10 it was a 6/7. 10 being something like being hit by a hard ball in the face at fast speed lol.
A tip to help the pain though, is to completely relax your body when you get it done. When they first told me to do it I thought they were messing around but it actually worked a dream. Also, if you don%26#039;t think about it, it won%26#039;t hurt as much because your mind is concentrating on other things. So, if possible you could talk to the people around you, or listen to the music that is playing, or if they have a TV in the room just watch that :)

If you can I%26#039;d go more centered or have it placed so more of it is on your stomach and less on the hips if the design and size allow for it. It didn%26#039;t really hurt that much - I think it was more annoying than anything. I like the idea and the concept and I think you will be happy with your choice. Plus it is still some place that can be easily covered up and that can be important depeding on your job or status in life. Good luck!!!

Take your ipod in with you. Eat something beforehand. Keep lotion on that area in the days beforehand. Follow the aftercare instructions. Remember that it takes 6 months for your skin to completely regenerate, so don%26#039;t stop aftercare as soon as it looks healed. Make sure that your pant don%26#039;t rub right at the same height as the tattoo. That will be bad for it.
You probably don%26#039;t want to hear this next bit, but if you are planning to ever get pregnant, your tattoo will become distorted and will not ever go back to its original shape. You can use lotions on it, and if you gain or lose weight regularly (like humans do) then you will want to make sure you use lots of lotion so that you don%26#039;t get stretch marks.

Reply:I saw some lady two weeks ago with an entire enscription on her forearm. It must have been about two or three sentences but the letters were tiny an perfect. It looked like she had typed it on her arm with a typewriter thats how small and perfect it was. I asked her where she had gotten it done because I was curious to know I had never seen lettering so small and perfect, and she said somewhere in phillidelphia. But it is definetly possible. You just have to look around for a good artist and I bet you%26#039;ll find one! Good luck!
Reply:Small tatoos, as they age, tend to blend, blur, and merge and end up looking like on big ball of color.. I would not suggest getting one.
Reply:It may look good initially, but as time goes on it isn%26#039;t going to look that good. Find a discreet area - like where a bikini would cover and go a bit larger. Unless you are completely naked a tattoo in a place like that wouldn%26#039;t show.
I%26#039;ve got a tattoo on my lower stomach. It isn%26#039;t so low that I couldn%26#039;t show it to someone if I wanted to, but it is always covered up. I%26#039;ve got a one piece swim suit with high thigh opening and I thought for sure that part of it would show, but it is still covered. If you go more centered then you shouldn%26#039;t have a problem with it not showing.
Reply:Depends on how talented the tattoo artist is. My friend had a recent tattoo, and you cant read the letters, as it looks smudged and all joined into one.
Reply:doing really small letters is not recommended because after a few years the ink will blend together and it will either look like a black bar, or like black dots where the letters used to be.
Reply:Some artists will use needles specifically needed for very tiny work, others will not. They generally cannot do very fine precision work with standard liner needle configurations. Look at Anil Gupta%26#039;s miniature work for evidence of what can be accomplished on a small scale.

This tiny stuff cannot be exposed to the sun or it will turn to a blob, since you already said it would be in a discreet place, that should not be a problem. I have some of the tiniest little lines on a tattoo that never sees the light of day and after 20 years it is still pristine.

Reply:I saw some lady two weeks ago with an entire enscription on her forearm. It must have been about two or three sentences but the letters were tiny an perfect. It looked like she had typed it on her arm with a typewriter thats how small and perfect it was. I asked her where she had gotten it done because I was curious to know I had never seen lettering so small and perfect, and she said somewhere in phillidelphia. But it is definetly possible. You just have to look around for a good artist and I bet you%26#039;ll find one! Good luck!

If you go more centered then you shouldn%26#039;t have a problem with it not showing.
Reply:Depends on how talented the tattoo artist is. My friend had a recent tattoo, and you cant read the letters, as it looks smudged and all joined into one.
Reply:doing really small letters is not recommended because after a few years the ink will blend together and it will either look like a black bar, or like black dots where the letters used to be.
Reply:Some artists will use needles specifically needed for very tiny work, others will not. They generally cannot do very fine precision work with standard liner needle configurations. Look at Anil Gupta%26#039;s miniature work for evidence of what can be accomplished on a small scale.

This tiny stuff cannot be exposed to the sun or it will turn to a blob, since you already said it would be in a discreet place, that should not be a problem. I have some of the tiniest little lines on a tattoo that never sees the light of day and after 20 years it is still pristine.
Reply:Don%26#039;t go smaller than 8pt font. If you do it will blur. Even at 8 it will blur. Go for 12 point font, that should be good.

I want the design to be mostly stars, some musical notes (to consicide with my original tattoo) and maybe some shaded lines to connect the,.
At first I wanted it up my side, over my ribs but after having a different tattoo for family reasons on my ribs I decided against a large tattoo in that area.
Before anyone says anything this is NOT my first tattoo, it will be my sixth if counted as a seperate tattoo from the one i want to get it extended from.
I need some pictures for inspiration but can%26#039;t seem to find any on the internet!!

What are your views on belly button piercings?
My mum has agreed to let me get it done for my sixteenth birthday.
I only have my ears pierced at the moment but i got them done 10 years ago so i cant really remember if it was painful or not.

None of them really hurt but i tried piercing my belly button one time and it hurt alot but if you get it done with a professional i dont think it would be that bad. You just have to make sure you take really good care of it because belly rings get infected really easy.. Good Luck !

Tragus piercing HELP!?
ive had my tragus pierced for nearly 4 months and i was just reading up on keloids!
i read they were genetic
me, my mom and my sister all got keloids on our belly piercings but they all went away and healed normally.
i also had a keloid on both my cartlidge piercings, they both went away and healed normally.
im really scared about getting on on my tragus piercing cos i love it soo much!
will i definatly get a keloid on it or is it very likely that i will get one???

IF you do get one. get bayer asprin. crush it up and mix it with a little bit of water until it turns into a paste. then put it all over the keloid and leave it there while you sleep. it should take care of it in about a week or so

as for the pool, i%26#039;ve found that (without sunburn) i tan just as easily in the water as i do out of it. the damage of the sun is also much less. the chlorine should not be a problem.

First of all, I can completely sympathise with you. I know you must be feeling self-concious about your %26quot;fat%26quot; legs, but you need to remember that you are only 12!
At this age, it is completely natural for you body to be going through a series of changes. Your weight (and moods!) will fluctuate due to the presence of something called hormones.
I am sure that if your legs are larger than the rest of your body, then as you grow up (and were only talking a few years), your legs will even up. As long as you eat healthily and do a decent amount of exercise everyday, then your body will standardise itself.
As for exerceise, the best way to fat-burn is by walking, biking and running.
Exercises such as sidesaddles are for building muscle, not burning fat and therefore they are not right for you!
But the best advice that I can give is to not be self-concious about your body.
At your age it is very important just to enjoy your childhood.

I would advise you not to cover them up with any make-up, as this will block your pores and make the blackheads worse.
Keep your hair off your face, and use a good blackhead clearing scrub (make sure you don%26#039;t get reactions to it first, test it on a small patch of your skin and leave for a day). Drink plenty of water and not so much junk food, substitute it for fruits and nuts and you should be fine! Hope this helps. x

I would advise you not to cover them up with any make-up, as this will block your pores and make the blackheads worse.
Keep your hair off your face, and use a good blackhead clearing scrub (make sure you don%26#039;t get reactions to it first, test it on a small patch of your skin and leave for a day). Drink plenty of water and not so much junk food, substitute it for fruits and nuts and you should be fine! Hope this helps. x

okay, im a pretty pale person, however i am a runner, and i have aquired some pretty horrible tan lines, (shorts lines, t-shirt lines) and as a result my arms, face, and legs have a little color in them, but my stomach is PURE WHITE! idk about you , but that would look pretty funny in a bikini at the pool.... i use jergens tanning lotion on my stomach and body , and it makes my legs look really nice, but it doesnt do much for my stomach..... my question is , do you think i should go get a mystic tan? of course on the lightest setting they have? but i refuse to go to a tanning bed, and simply laying out in the sun, i would burn to no end.

I too have tried tanning to get rid of my Farmer%26#039;s Tna, and I really don%26#039;t think you should try Mystic Tan because it will only coat your legs and make them even darker.As for your stomach, it will get no where as dark as your legs. I suggest using a loofah and doing a major exfoliation with St. Ives Apricot Scrub to get rid of the top layer of skin so you can start your tan over. Trust me, it totally works.

take it out if it%26#039;s really tight or disappearing into the swelling. this can be very dangerous, you can get a bad infection and there have even been people that have died because of infected piercings (not that this will happen to you i%26#039;m sure, it%26#039;s INCREDIBLY rare)
some people just react badly to piercings so you may be one of them. keep taking care of it but don%26#039;t be too fussy, sometimes messing around with it can make it worse.
