Am getting a piercing kit...10 points best answer!?

recently asked but...the piercing kit is never used that am buying and i am 16. The piercing kit includes a tutorial CD to teach you how to use it. So what happens if i pierce people bodies without a license?

what if i put on the terms and conditions that if anything gets infected then i wont be responsible..

i am young but i am very mature.. THANKS

My mate did piercings with a pin so it%26#039;s probably better than his way but you shouldn%26#039;t risk it until you can limit your liability. Writing a random contract probably won%26#039;t help you too much if you make someone look like the elephant man.

Just because there is a CD ther that shows you how to use it, doesn%26#039;t give you the license or authority to use it on ther people.

Piercing requires a license and a lot of training.
Reply:depends where you live but you can get prosecuted for it in most states.if you really want to be a piercer, get an apprenticeship somewhere nearby, and DO IT RIGHT, train hard.

if you just want some extra money, get a paper round or something, dont do homemade piercings.

a terms and conditions sheet wont help. thats like a robber making the people he%26#039;s stealing from sign a disclaimer that it wasnt his fault they got robbed.

maturity means nothing, yuo need training, do you really want to pierce someones ear and they get ear collapse, or someones belly and they end up with a massive scar because you didnt do it right? just dont !
Reply:you have to be at least 18yrs old to do this, and because you are not a member of any organisation you personally will be sued if something goes wrong as you are unlicensed and untrained...legally the same as stabbing someone and giving them t%26amp;c!

you need to have practiced on many people before you become licensed, therefore giving you experience etc, so you need to be trained! would you pay to get pierced by a teenager with no clue?!
Reply:well i reckon you will only be done by the police if you set up a business without a licence. but if your just piercing your mates than it should be alright...providing you follow the instructions carefully and sterilised everything

some of my friends have pierced each other and they were fine, but the piercings hurt for a while.
Reply:first of all, i%26#039;m sure it%26#039;s illegal. you%26#039;ve said it already: piercing people%26#039;s bodies without a license. even if you put on the terms and conditions that if anything goes awry, and you can%26#039;t be sued, i think that you can still be prosecuted for operation without a license. i%26#039;m quite sure... (you live in the US?)

and without learning how to pierce from a skilled piercer, sure, you can mark up, clamp, and stick a hole through someone%26#039;s body. but, how about cross-contamination, and other issues? would you buy an autoclave?

and i don%26#039;t think that any reputable shop/online shop will sell piercing kits to minors. it%26#039;s just one of those %26quot;ethical%26quot; things, where if you can%26#039;t get it, it is most likely of higher quality.

and careful, minors have been suspended from school because they are piercing their friends...
Reply:I%26#039;m quite sure that%26#039;s illegal
Reply:(first paragraph copy/pasted directly from the BME DIY piercing FAQ)

%26quot;How can I safely pierce my friends?

You can%26#039;t. Setting up a studio at home where you can safely pierce your friends is a venture that requires at least a thousand dollar investment, if not far more. There is no way for you to reasonably do this. If you want to pierce your friends, become a piercer.%26quot;

I think the fact that you%26#039;re seriously considering this raises the issue that you%26#039;re obviously not mature. Piercing kits, no matter how they%26#039;re advertised, are designed for use on yourself at the most

The point of learning to be a piercer isn%26#039;t about shoving a needle through someone%26#039;s flesh, it%26#039;s about all the peripheral knowledge: blood borne pathogens, contamination control, advanced anatomy, CPR, advanced healing processes, infuence of outside factors, materials and their properties, jewellery suitability, I could happily go on all day

It%26#039;s illegal to pierce another person without the following things:

- A license obtained after at least 1-2 years of apprenticing

- An environment that adheres with health and safety regulations (seperate room for piercings, light coloured surfaces, all surfaces washed thoroughlt with an antimicrobial cleaner, an autoclave on site, every piece of equipment autoclaved)

- You have to be 18 as an absolute minimum

If you pierce without a license you%26#039;re criminally liable for everthing, no matter what they sign. If you%26#039;re putting people at risk (well, it%26#039;s more a case of %26quot;you are%26quot; not %26quot;if you are%26quot;) you can very easily be declared a danger to yourelf and those around you

Do the words %26#039;common ******* sense%26#039; mean anything to you?

But hey, congratulations, you%26#039;re well on your way to a Darwin award!
